One of the reasons I believe our Farmers’ Markets are so successful is because we care about the standard of our products. We welcome farmers, butchers, nurseries, fishermen, bakers, preserve makers and cooks at our farmers’ markets but, to be at our markets you, the producer must have grown it or made it using local ingredients. In addition you must be based within a 50 mile radius* of the market and if it’s your product then you, or someone who works closely with you, must be selling it.



To ensure standards we do ask a number of questions and we do try to visit as many producers and businesses before they sell at our markets. We expect all traders to be well presented and to have a stall that looks the part. As one of our traders/producers you should expect to attend a well organised and well marketed event with a considerable footfall and an excellent reputation with an extensive range of products but minimal duplication.

• Suffolk Market Events defines ‘Local’ as a radius from the market. A definition of 30 miles is ideal, up to 50 miles is acceptable and for fisherman this radius extends to 100 miles.
