Wild Garlic Forage & Cooking Demo

Join foraging expert and Michel Roux trained chef, Carl Shillingford for a fantastic wild garlic forage in ancient woodland in the Lavenham area.

The forage will start at 8.30am to ensure that a good couple of hours are spent on the hunt before returning to Lavenham Village Hall for a good mooch about the award winning Farmers' Market, some much deserved refreshments and and an hour of delicious cooking with lots of tasty samples! 

Tickets cost £35 and will include refreshments, the guided forage, cooking demo and a Suffolk Market Events Goodie Bag.

 

Please note the woods are about a 30 minute drive from Lavenham and the demo will be held in Lavenham Village Hall. Full details will be given on booking. 

 

This event is outside on rough, muddy land and is unfortunately not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Cooking with Spices

Mena Boughey, a local Indian cook with over 30 years home cooking experience will talk you through the very best fresh ingredients to use in curry creations, show you how to create the perfect blend of exotic spices and delight your senses with the aromas and colours of Indian cooking.

Tickets cost £25 and include at least one hour’s demonstration, sample dishes and a Suffolk Market Events Goodie Bag complete with recipe ideas and tasty curry samples.

French Patisserie with Corrine Payet  

11am - 1pm

This is an amazing opportunity to spend a couple of hours in the company of the delightful French patisserie chef, Corrine Payet who will be showing everyone how to make a beautiful summer tart.

During the morning Corrine will demonstrate how to make the tart from start to finish including a sweet shortcrust pastry, creme patissiere and glazing and decorating the tart. 

Coming from a tropical French colony where sugar cane and vanilla are produced, Corrine's demonstration is the perfect opportunity to share top tips about these key ingredients.

Bee keeping for beginners

Join Ian Hart of The Bee House Honey Company as he talks you through the fascinating world of bee keeping. Watch the bees at work through observation hives, and sample the honey they produce.

This is the perfect opportunity to ask all the questions you want, to take notes and really soak up the knowledge of one of the region's very best beekeepers.

Chutney Making with Libby Laurence of The Jam Shed

Join Libby Laurence of The Jam Shed to learn all about making your own delicious chutneys including the best seasonal ingredients to use, sterilisation techniques and a whole list of top tips.

The workshop will last about two hours and will be fun, informal, interactive and packed full of information and tasty samples.

Tickets cost £25 to include refreshments, a full cooking demo and a Suffolk Market Events  Bag full of tasty recipes and jar of Libby's delicious homemade chutney.

Join foraging expert and Michel Roux trained chef, Carl Shillingford for a fantastic mushroom forage in ancient woodland near Lavenham followed by a wild food cooking demonstartion using ingredients that you have just discovered!.

The forage will last about 90 minutes and the exact location will be confirmed nearer the date. The cooking demo will take place in Lavenham Village Hall starting at 2.30pm and lasting an hour.

Tickets cost £35 and will include refreshments, the guided forage, cooking demo and a Suffolk Market Events Goodie Bag.

Stir Up Sunday Christmas Pudding Making 

11am - 1pm

Tickets £40 

Join Upstairs at the Market for this traditional annual event and leave with your Christmas Pudding in perfect time for Christmas Day, using the best quality ingredients and run by our very own local celebrity Christmas Pudding maker.

Tickets for this workshop cost £40 of which a percentage will be donated to the NSPCC and will include refreshments, a Suffolk Market Events receipe card and your very own Christmas pudding!
